Baked Penne with Sausage & Mozzarella

  • 1 box penne pasta
  • 1 lb ground sausage
  • 1 jar pasta sauce
  • 1 8oz can pasta sauce
  • 1 cup pasta water
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, coarsely chopped
  • 1/2 cup whipping cream
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella


Cook the pasta in a large pot. Meanwhile, cook off the sausage in a skillet. Drain off the grease and return to pan. Add in pasta sauces, pasta water, parsley and whipping cream. Mix well and keep warm. When the pasta is done, drain and return to the pot. Then carefully pour the skillet mixture into the pot. Mix together well and pour mixture in a greased 13x9 dish. Cover with foil and bake for 15 minutes in a 350F oven. Next, uncover the dish and evenly spread mozzarella cheese on top. Loosely cover and bake for 10 additional minutes. Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.
